White Clouds on a Blue Sky
White Clouds on a Blue Sky ($125.00)
White Clouds on a Blue Sky is as literal an image as any named creation I have offered. The small white windowpane horsehair crinoline is crested on the precipice of a blue embossed blue satin.
The horsehair billows and swirls to highlight the feature. The white “clouds” as with so many of my pieces, can be deeply angled over the eye for dramatic effect and the piece can be rotated slowly on the corner of the head to discover multiple angles that will flatter the owner.
I always recommend deeply hanging the hat with the elastics that are hidden under the hat. If not, use a headband that allows the piece to almost hang freely with no visible means of support.
The band can be slid under a lining of cutwork-lace for use at will or simply removed if the preference is to use bobby pins or clips connected to the loops of the lining’s band.
In any event, this piece will be spoken of in flattering tones and travels easily with any soft fabric or plastic to keep the crowns shape and the horsehair bounces back in its synthetic splendor.
